Job Summary and Qualifications
The Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator works with trauma program leadership to coordinate all aspects of the departments Performance Improvement and Patient Safety (PIPS) Program. The PI Coordinator will review the continuum of care to determine compliance with practice management guidelines, policies and procedures, and established standards of care.
Position Description:
The RN Trauma Performance Improvement monitors and evaluates the care of the critically injured patient from the time of injury through the continuum of care to ensure that care is safe, effective, patient centered, timely, efficient, and equitable. Works under the direction of the Trauma Program Director (TPD).
In this position you will:
- Provides coordination and facilitation of performance improvement data collection, analysis, trending and benchmarking of data and outcomes required for a Level 2 State (FL) and American College of Surgeons (ACS) designated trauma center
- Collaborates with the Trauma Medical Doctor and Trauma Program Director and other disciplines to review the performance and safety of the Trauma Program and coordinates activities to evaluate issues, promote loop closure, and enhance clinical outcomes
- Maintains compliance with trauma standards and guidelines in accordance to the State of Florida for trauma designation and the American College of Surgeons Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP)
What qualifications you will need:
- FL RN Licensure, or
- Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
- Associates Degree from an accredited school of nursing preferred
- BSN or MSN preferred
- 1 year or more RN Acute critical care experience preferred
- Experience with Performance Improvement or Quality preferred
