Disney Parks, Experiences and Products: Manager, Technology (Devops)

Job Summary:The Manager within DPEP is expected to lead and manage teams of Platform Engineers that provide support to business applications, maintain security, performance and availability of critical business platforms, deliver time sensitive MSE s and liaison between development and system engineering team. The Manager will be challenged with identifying opportunities to optimize TCO and improve overall performance and availability of shared platformsResponsibilities:Owning the DevOps strategy for all entitlement platform s products and services.Championing DevOps process and ensuring our DevOps strategy is implemented in end-to-end development.Defining the platform health dashboard and implementing the platform KPI monitoring.Discovering ways to improve existing architecture, keeping in mind various automation tools.Managing other DevOps engineers and ensuring full efficiency from DevOps process team including developers, QA, and release management.Acting as an escalation point for qualified service degradation incidents and background provisioning issues.Acting as a knowledgeable expert on configuration management and deployment tools.Leverages intimate familiarity to cloud technologies in architecting components, infrastructure, and tools.Supporting the implementation of DevOps / Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery (CICD) for Entitlement platform s new product initiatives and existing products.Acts as liaison between business and technologies teams.Basic Qualifications:10+ years of proven experience in leading and managing large software development / support initiatives and business critical platformsIntimately familiar with Azure and AWS cloud technologies.Hands on knowledge of Splunk queries and dashboard creation.Hands on knowledge of DevOps tool chain such as Git, Jenkins, Nexus, Docker, Kubernetes etc.Able to deploy, configure, monitor, and diagnose cloud services and SaaS applications.Experience with scripting technologies and modern programming languages such as Java.Ability to operate and drive projects and results in a DevOps model collaborating with both Operations and Development to streamline the integration and deployment processExceptional communication skills: this includes written and verbal communication as well as visualizationsStrong leadership and people management skillsProven experience in influencing business and technology leadership to drive positive lasting outcomesStrong situational analysis and decision-making abilities.Experience in Agile software development methodologies such as Scrum and test-driven approachPreferred Qualifications:Experience in Disney financial ecosystem (Payments), a plus3+ years of experience in people management and leadership role6+ years of experience in leading and driving large teams and programsExperience in working in a multi-national and multi-cultural work environmentDemonstrates strong ability to influence without authorityDemonstrates strong organizational and time management skillsAbility to share and present ideas and program details with Senior ExecutivesAbility to embrace organizational changeAbility to think creatively beyond normal constraintsRequired EducationBachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experiencePreferred EducationPMP or PgMP CertificationAgile SCRUM Master Certification
