Job SummaryThe Assistant Nurse Manager will work in partnership with the Nurse Manager to support the teams in the Main PACU and the POLA (preop area). Duties will include planning, rounding on the units, managing throughput, partnering with bed management and the nurse coordinator, assisting with administrative work and employee engagement. The Assistant Nurse Manager will also assist with managing individual employee issues.
The ideal candidate will have previous PACU or ICU experience and have been in a leadership role at some time. Some patient care may be required during times of critical staffing, so an orientation to post anesthesia care will be an expectation. This will be a 40 hour position with 4 10 hour day shifts (exact times TBD).
Qualifications
- Current Connecticut RN License.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN required).
- BLS certification by the American Heart Association required prior to date of hire.
- Strong Communications skills required
- Prior leadership experience and/or committee work preferred
