Team Leader- Men's Unit and Adult Services - Located in Sioux City, IA

Position Purpose:
The Team Lead is responsible for the program milieu management and daily supervision of unit operations under direction of Unit Coordinator/Clinical Supervisor. Duties include but are not limited to assisting all program team members with daily operations as needed and is the deemed point person for questions and problem solving in the management of the treatment milieu. The Team Leader will provide training, quality assurance, staff supervision to unit specialists, and attend required meetings and will provide Substance Use Disorder Treatment Services for up to two adolescent clients.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in social work, sociology, psychology, counseling, or related field.
- tCADC or CADC preferred or be certified within 90 days of employment CADC, LMHC or LISW preferred.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet agency insurance requirements.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience supervising a team in a social service setting strongly preferred.
- Adequate written skills to accurately complete required documentation within the time frames prescribed.
- Computer proficiency required and proficient using Microsoft products such as Word, Outlook, and Power Point.
- Ability to problem solve using established protocols or procedures or seeking supervision.
- Skilled in conducting individual, family, and group counseling.
- Ability to coordinate and present lectures for clients, parents and community resources.
- Ability to effectively conduct behavioral management and intervention techniques.
- Ability to work with persons from diverse backgrounds and personalities.
- CPR Certification or obtain within 90 days of employment.
- CPI Certification or obtain within 90 days of employment.
- Iowa Mandatory Reporter for children and dependent adults or obtain within six months of employment.
- Skills to adapt verbal communication to the language style of the client and staff.
- Positive demeaner, empathetic and calm.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Oversees the day-to-day supervision of the Adolescent Unit Specialists to assure adherence of daily schedule and task completion.
- Work hours prescribed and any additional hours deemed necessary for the responsibilities assigned. Hours include some later shifts per week.
- Hire and directly supervise program Unit Specialists including orientation, training, and regular supervisory meetings.
- Collaborate with Shift Supervisors and Team Leads to ensure adequate staffing coverage residential units
- Prepare staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage of assigned units and work with other team leaders to provide residential coverage assigning and cross training as needed.
- Provide direct coverage as needed as Unit Specialist or Addiction Counselor.
- Participate in the on-call rotation.
- Provide staff feedback on performance via team meetings, monthly supervision, and annual reviews. Provide more frequent individual feedback when needed.
- Perform a daily inspection for the environment of the unit and request necessary repairs or services from the Environmental Services Team.
- Working under direction of Unit Coordinator, assist assuring adherence and monitoring of program policies, goals, objectives, and procedures.
- Develop and attend and participate in daily morning rounds and afternoon shift 'pass- on' meetings.
- Refine clinical program offerings to better serve the needs of clients, families and the Siouxland Community in conjunction with the Unit Coordinator.
- Promote team concept throughout residential services.
- Coordinate the tracking and ordering supplies for the unit.
- Undertake primary case management for up to 2 clients as needed.
- Ensure documentation, treatment planning, individual, group, and family notes are consistent with rules and regulations.
- Provide aftercare, continuing care and outpatient recommendations when completing discharge planning.
- Coordinate and communicate with Mental Health providers, including this in the treatment plan when required.
- Maintain communication with collateral contacts as needed.
Serve as a role model and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing the agency.
- Assume other related responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
