    Job Summary and Qualifications

    The Neuroscience/Chest Pain Coordinator is a Registered Nurse who provides support and assists in the delivery of quality patient care. The primary responsibility is continuum of stroke care for neurological and neurosurgical patients. The Neuroscience Coordinator will ensure continuity between clinical practice and standards of care to patients with neurological disorders. The Chest Pain coordinator will provide a continuum of care for the cardiac patient. This individual works collaboratively with physicians, nurse and case managers and other health care disciplines utilizing a team approach. This position will serve as a leader, role model and mentor to facilitate each professional providing care to neuroscience, spine and chest pain patients. This individual will report directly to the COO as an in-house clinical consultant regarding excellence in clinical care. The coordinator will be responsible for meeting Joint Commission standards complying with corporate policy and procedure. The coordinator has responsibility for the development and execution of growth strategies for the service lines. Responsible for performance improvement, P&P, physician relations, program development; develops and implements communication, education, and community outreach strategies.

    • Organizes the functions of the continuum of neuroscience care through the appropriate assignment of responsibilities, delegation of authority.
    • Effectively communicates with administration, medical staff, employees, and other departments to coordinate efforts, meet special needs, and address problems or concerns; intentions of written and oral communications are clear and effective.
    • Establishes quality improvement, fiscal, productivity and patient satisfaction goals and objectives of the neuroscience service in collaboration with Neuroscience Medical Director.
    • Evaluates existing systems and processes, initiates changes and improvement, and makes suggestions to upper management.
    • Serves as a liaison with Medical Director, Neurologist, Neurosurgeon,NeuroInterventional Radiologist, and all members of the Acute Stroke Team.
    • Serves as a liaison with community groups including local support groups. Provide educational opportunities to community
    • Serves as a liaison with state and national organization involved in stroke care including the American Stroke Association and National Stroke Association.
    • Provides physical assessment of individuals being treated for acute stroke.
    • Acts as a liaison with clinical research for stroke.
    • Provide educational opportunities and process improvement suggestions to the Acute Stroke Care Team.
    • Follows through on administrative recommendations of the Neuroscience/Spine team.
    • Work closely with EMS to provide education and feedback to assure optimal continuity of care, from pre-hospital to hospital.
    • Other duties to be assigned

    What qualifications you will need:

    • Holds current licensure in the State of Florida, as RN
    • Graduate of accredited school of nursing BSN preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 years progressive management experience.
