    Description

    Summary:

    OR Scheduler Assistant facilitates a welcome and easy access to the facility and is responsible for establishing an encounter for any patient who meets the guidelines for hospital service. OR Scheduler Assistant ensures that all data entry is accurate including demographic and financial information for each account. OR Scheduler Assistant is responsible for the successful financial outcome of all patient services. OR Scheduler Assistant communicates directly with patients and families, physicians, and nurses. This position requires professional appearance, behavior, and good communication skills. OR Scheduler Assistant requires dependability, flexibility, and teamwork.

    This position is responsible for coordinating communications of the department through the scheduling surgical/procedural cases, relaying information to the appropriate person and entering data into the department computer system.

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma preferred or equivalent required.
    • Knowledge of patient care arena
    • Knowledge of surgical/ procedural preference cards & surgical block times
    • Knowledge of booking sheets, documentation & special equipment needs.
    • Knowledge of policy & procedures around pre-authorization
    • Knowledge of block time utilization & management
