    Responsibilities

    Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.

    • Assess, prepare and position patients for procedures. Perform conscious sedation and hemodynamic monitoring as necessary.
    • Prepare, implement and document plan of care. Communicate patient's condition to physician before, during and after procedures.
    • Perform and/or facilitate diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional procedures.
    • Perform set up and provide equipment and supplies before, during and after procedures.

    • Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with patient, family, and members of the healthcare team.
    • Assess the physical and psychological status of patients, provide interventions/treatments and evaluate effectiveness of care to achieve desired patient outcomes.
    • Evaluate learning needs of patient and family and provides age-specific and culturally appropriate education. All other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    Licensure / Certification / Registration:

    • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing OR current home state license for multi-state license recognition 'Compact State' obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

    Education:

    • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of
      hire.
