Position Summary...
What you'll do...
About Team:
Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.
What you'll do:
As a Senior, Software Engineer in our team, you will be one of the leads for the implementation of our new next generation compliance messaging platform. This platform will be used by all our nodes to make sure any item from Walmart's immense catalog - is shipped (and disposed) correctly. This means that you will be:
* Gathering requirements - working closely with our business partners and you will also be contributing with requirements as you learn more about the domain
* Designing and creating the UI for our new compliance message platform using reusable components
* Designing, implementing, deploying and supporting the micro-services that will power our new compliance message platform. This also means that you will make sure proper CI/CD pipelines are in-place and you participate in design sessions and code review sessions.
* Making sure we are operationally excellent. Our team has high standards so this means you should love metrics, proper logging, and know how to use cloud configuration frameworks.
* Owning features end-to-end, that's how we do it at Walmart - you drive a feature to completion and support it (better yet, automate the maintenance).
* Be a mentor and improve our culture. Lead by example, be role model and help grow other engineers in our team.
What you'll bring:
Backend:- Knowledge of microservices in Java (JDK8+) - with experience designing either RESTful APIs or GraphQL APIs - deployment in Kubernetes (so the wcnp onboarding goes quickly) (Required)
- Knowledge of Git (Required) - preferably using Github
- Knowledge of common Java IDEs - preferably IntelliJ
- Knowledge of TTD - use of mock for unit tests and contract testing for integration and functional tests. (Required)
- Spring boot 2+, Hibernate 5+, Spring Security, Spring integration - Mid to Advance knowledge of SQL (SQL Server is more likely to be the DB we will use - but any other DB knowledge transfers) (Required)
- Familiar with API integrations (Nice to have)
- Familiarity with Cucumber and functional testing (Nice to have)
- Familiarity with Gatling or JMeter for Load Testing (Nice to have)
- Familiarity with micrometer, Splunk and Prometheus. (Nice to have)
- Knowledgde of DB2 (this will be needed to migrate the old rules into the new system when the time comes) - nice to have.
Frontend:- Advance Knowledge of Javascript or Typescript, and ReactJS - state management within React. Preferably within a framework like Gatsby or Next.js). (Required)
- Knowledge of React components - creating and using them. (Required)
- Knowledge of unit test libraries like Jest - professional experience using them (Required)
- Knowledge of integration testing web apps using tools like Puppeteer or Selenium (nice to have)
- Professional experience using NodeJS, package, and build (npm, webpack) tools to deploy web applications. (Required)
- Familiarity with Figma and basic UX concepts (nice to have)
