    Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic

    Overview:

    Work with the garage team in repairing and maintaining the MDI fleet of dieseltrucks and trailers.

    Schedule:

    Sunday - Thursday 3pm-11pm

    Responsibilities:
    • Perform basic inspection (check fluids, lights, brakes, etc)
    • Perform preventive maintenance on cars, trucks, trailers and other equipment
    • Fuel company equipment.
    • Record and enter maintenance and parts information into the computer.
    • Work in a safe manner adhering to all MDI, state and federal safety rules
    • Must be able to bend, stoop, stretch, lift, read, write and lift up to and including 100 lbs.
    • Operate trailer yard spotter.
    • May be required to perform other tasks as necessary.
    • Change truck and trailer tires as needed.
    • Responsible for following all training documents and procedures as it relates to Food Safety and Food Defense.
    Qualifications:

    • 3-5 years of hands-on repair and diagnosis experience
    • ASE certifications preferred in: Suspension/Steering, Air brake, Diesel/Gasoline, Transmission/Differential; must obtain brake certification within 2 years of hire
    • Experience in transmission/differential repair
    • Intermediate computer skills with diagnosis programs preferred
    • Experience with Mack/Detroit engines
    • Basic welding skills
    • Air conditioning certified- multiple acceptable programs for certification
    • Transmission/ Differential experience
    • Computer literate with Dossier and some OEM engine diagnosis programs
    • Minor hands-on welding experience
    • Work towards Master ASE Certification
