I.SUMMARY
EMR USA HAS AN OPENING FOR A LOAD INSPECTOR. IN THIS ROLE, THE LOAD INSPECTOR WILL ASSIST EQUIPMENT OPERATORS BY IDENTIFYING CUSTOMER MATERIALS AND DIRECTING CUSTOMERS WHERE TO GO IN THE YARD. TO BE SUCCESSFUL, THE LOAD INSPECTOR MUST BE ORGANIZED AND ABLE TO PERFORM SEVERAL TASKS AT THE SAME TIME. ULTIMATELY, AN OUTSTANDING LOAD INSPECTOR HAS GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS, IS A TEAM PLAYER AND POSSESSES A STRONG WORK ETHIC.
II.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspects and grades incoming and outgoing loads for quality, weight, packaging, hazardous materials and safety.
- Reports load inspections to scale operator to correctly pay customers for their materials.
- Writes inspection reports and metal tickets as needed.
- Directs traffic throughout the facility to ensure loads are dumped in the proper locations.
- Must be able to work with a minimum amount of supervision.
- Performs general facility cleanup.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
III.REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Knowledge of metal grades a plus
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
- Ability to communicate well with customers and coworkers
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently
- Ability to work in all elements such as rain, cold, and heat
- Ability to handle stressful situations, manages time, and multitasks
IV.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School graduate or G.E.D.
V.OTHER JOB DEMANDS
While performing the essential functions of this job, the Load inspector will be working in an outdoor environment. The employee may be near moving mechanical parts and will be exposed to all weather conditions. The noise level in the environment can be loud and will require ear protection. The employee is required to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time. This job also requires frequent bending, kneeling, and standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., and working in confined spaces.
