    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The Sr. Staff Accountant will rely on your confidence and good judgment to make sound accounting business decisions. You will tap into your resourcefulness and take initiative to jump into the role and learn by doing.

    • Manage each accounting function necessary to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles

    • Monitor and maintain accounting functions to comply GAAP to maintain the integrity of the financial records, and to ensure compliance with corporate policies

    • Manage and prepare monthly financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, and various ad hoc reporting for various entities

    • Assist and manage the expedition of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement close processes including the preparation of various monthly journal entries, a detail review of balance sheet and income statement accounts agreeing to the underlying support as necessary

    • Maintain monthly general ledger account reconciliations

    • Prepare reports for the monthly board packet and quarterly board meeting presentations


    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field AND 2 years of related experience; OR HS/GED AND 6 years of relevant experience

    • Comprehensive and current understanding of financial statements and accounting principles (working knowledge of GAAP)

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and a basic knowledge of Microsoft Word


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • CPA

    • Experience with Great Plains software is a plus

    • Outstanding analytical, decision-making, and problem solving skills

    • Maintain attention to detail, complete multiple or repetitive tasks, and demonstrate a serious commitment to accuracy and quality all while meeting goals
