Financial Analyst, Consultant
Your Role
The Enterprise Finance Consolidations and Business System team is responsible for the companys consolidated financial statements, forecasting and reporting activities, business systems and administrative expense allocations. The team manages financial forecast and annual planning activities, provide monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial reporting to the Board of Directors, BSC Executives, Senior leaders, and external constituents. The team also manages Administrative Expense allocations and business systems (Hyperion Essbase & Planning and Concur expense & invoice management). Some of our business partners include Growth and Health finance, Treasury, Accounting, Actuarial, Expense Functional teams, and Enterprise Risk Management. The team seeks a Corporate Financial Consultant to support or lead monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting activities, Administrative Expense allocation management, develop financial analyses and reports for use in operational and strategic decision-making. The Financial Analyst, Consultant,will report to the Sr Manager, Finance Analytics. In this role you will help transform finance by improving financial reports, financial systems and help improve product profitability.
Your Work
In this role, you will:
- Summarize detailed revenue/expense dataandcompare summarized claim data against fee schedules and contracts
- Produce contract performance reports, modeling of reimbursement rates, evaluation of financial contract modifications and compiling and monitoring key managed care statistics
- Collect and evaluate data, develop and maintain financial models, analyze results and conduct scenario analyses to forecast balance sheet, cash flow and regulatory capital
- Follow and conduct audit processes and review internal controls to ensure financial transactions are accurate, timely and comply with accounting standards, principles and company policy
- Provide policy guidance and interpretation to ensure financial records are consistent and comply with company policies and GAAP
- Bring efficiencies to finance organization by creating standard financial reports
- Manage expense allocation process
- Help identified financial tools and systems that positions us as best-in-class finance organization
Your Knowledge and Experience
- Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Requires at least 7 years of prior relevant experience
- Expense Allocation experience required
- Self-driven innovative thinker that is passionate about optimizing processes
- Experience developing and rolling out company-wide financial reports
- Ability to access financial systems
- Ability to work independently and drive results
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Advance financial modeling and technical skills (Excel, Macros, Power BI, Tableau, SQL etc.)
- Strong financial and analytical background with demonstrated ability to drill into data to identify root causes, to turn data into actionable information, and to communicate results effectively to various levels of management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Hyperion Administrative knowledge a plus
Pay Range: The pay range for this role is $109,120.00 to $163,680.00 for California.
Note: Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
