    Facility Maint. Manager I

    The Facility Maintenance Manager Idirects the maintenance team and contractors in preventive maintenance and repair work. Manages capital projects from scope through completion. Supervise a multi-trade maintenance department that services a 24/7 operation. Must have 5+ years of maintenance supervisory/management experience. BS Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree is preferred.

    • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, disassembling, repairing, and re-assembling parts as necessary
    • Testing mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications
    • Working with computer instrumentation to perform diagnostics and execute work worders
    • Welding and fabrication of necessary parts to maintain working order

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for all personnel-related functions for maintenance employees, including, but not limited to, hiring, firing, and performance appraisals.
    • Supervision of all maintenance employees and shifts. Manage opportunities to grow employees and their skills.
    • Responsible for project development and execution to improve operations/uptime/safety. Develops scope of work, project timelines, project expenditures, and tracking.
    • Is familiar with equipment and maintenance activities in the chemical processes industry, including welding, pipe fitting, mechanical repair, rotating equipment, boilers, air compressors, thermal oxidizers, electrical systems, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, instrumentation, and control systems.
    • Manage spare parts and critical parts inventory to minimize equipment downtime.
    • CMMS: Use the system to manage assets, perform PMs and ROs, and track the costs of maintaining each asset.
    • Be the on-site project leader for large capital projects managed by corporate engineering.
    • Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements (environmental, health and safety, federal, state, and municipal). Ensures work meets all applicable health and safety standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

    What Does it Take to Work for Clean Harbors?

    • Plant maintenance experience in one of the following areas: preventative maintenance, installations, welding, electrical, pipe-fitting, rolling-stock/heavy equipment mechanics
    • Demonstrated knowledge in welding or hydraulics
    • Ability to work on weekends and overtime
    • Ability to pass a mechanical aptitude test
    • Ability to meet physical demands of the position, including movements such as lifting, bending, reaching, climbing, and the manipulating and handling of objects
