Ranch Hand - Ranch & Animal Caretaker - Loper

LOOKING FOR A BURNED OUT LOPER - TIRED OF DOING CIRCLES & IN NEED OF A BREAK

Private 300 acre ranch in North Texas (60 miles west of Fort Worth), looking for one long term responsible individual (no families) - to work with existing Ranch Hand. This is not a horse training position, nor a management position. Non-exclusive summary information follows:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- Prior experience with horses, dogs and other animals required (not family horses or family ranch)

- Confident in recognizing illness, injury & lameness in animals

- Current Texas Driver s License with acceptable driving record

- US Citizen or equivalent

- Able to pass background & drug test

- Must be able to work most weekends

- No pets

- Must be compassionate to all Animals

JOB DUTIES:

- handling foals, bathing horses & dogs, exercising older horses

- some loping of horses

- Horse stall and corral cleaning and Dog kennel cleaning

- Horse, Dog, Cattle, and other animals, feeding & watering

- Grounds maintenance and cleaning, including minor fence repair & painting, mowing, weed maintenance, light plumbing repair

- Truck and trailer driving with animals

- Tractor & implement operation

- involvement with vets & feed vendors

- Attend Horse Shows

- Salary, paid twice a month (depending upon experience)
