    CI/CD Pipeline Engineer and Developer

CI/CD Engineer to develop, test, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and other support systems for the development of combat systems. This work is performed in an Agile environment as part of a contractor-government team. Some work can be done remotely once familiarization with the project team is established. However, applicants must be available for occsional in person meetings at Dahlgren, VA without additional travel compensation.

    Responsibilities:

    • Rapid development of software products meeting sponsor milestones and deliver associated products on time
    • Develop and lead state-of-the-art CI/CD pipeline solutions that meet the projects need utilizing latest containerized technologies and practices.
    • Ability to conduct in-depth review of existing software to gain a working knowledge of the current baseline
    • Gain an understanding of the sponsors environment and aid in meeting milestone goals during development in support of their mission
    • Develop processes to ensure tasking and products follow best engineering practice
    • Understand and translate real-world needs into technical specifications, providing the sponsor the ability to deliver focused engineering solution that delivers deployable technologies
    • Communicate and coordinate with development and test team, line management, and other stakeholders.

    Requirements:

    • Experience in C++ and Python. Deep understanding of scripting practices and OO programming. (5+ years)
    • Experience with Linux Environments (preferred, 5+ years)
    • Experience designing and building CI/CD SW pipelines (5+ years)
    • Experience with DevOps (5+ years)
    • Familiar with Service Oriented Architecture
    • Experience with Gitlab and Distributed Version Control Environments using Git
    • Experience with agile software development practices
    • Ability to show strong leadership & organizational skills
    • Sponsor interface experience
    • Ability to coordinate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work cooperatively across working groups and IPTs
    • Ability to clearly define and successfully communicate engineering recommendations to leadership
    • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing

    Preferred Skills & Experience:??

    • Experience in any of the following areas, Navy Hull Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E), Combat systems (CS), naval architecture, Unmanned Surface Vessels (USV) and or autonomy systems
    • Experience with Unmanned Maritime Autonomy Architecture
    • Experience with the integration of System of Systems (SoS) engineering development and acquisition efforts
    • Experience with payload integration processes, including system development, including rapid technology development and integration on multiple platforms
    • Familiarization with MIL-STD-882 Software System Safety & Joint Services Software System Safety Engineering Handbook (JSSSEH)
    • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
    • Experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML)
    • Familiar with Jira and Confluence tools

    Education:??A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline is required

    Clearance: A Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

    Travel: Occasional travel to support test events

    Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidates experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.

    The projected annual compensation range for this position is $99,000 - $135,000 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
