Job Description
Benefits EDI Production Specialist
The Benefits EDI Production Specialist is responsible for reviewing and sending accurate electronic files to insurance carriers for Paycom clients. They will also assist in the EDI process for existing file modifications, troubleshooting and open enrollment. EDI stands for Electronic Data Interchange.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Submit FTP (File Transfer Protocol) requests to our IT team to create the folder format to communicate and send secure data to insurance carriers
- Pull and review ongoing production files for insurance carriers
- Troubleshoot and adjust technical file components
- Support service teams in client support with needs around files
- Coordinate file updates with applicable parties
- Review daily reporting and provide updates to leadership
- Assist with special projects as needed
Education/Certification:
- High School diploma
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience working on computer systems of any type, HR experience or related fields or combination of experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
- Experience working with employee benefit plans or insurance carriers
- Experience troubleshooting moderately complex client inquiries utilizing problem-solving and analytical skills
Skills/Abilities:
- Technically savvy with the ability to navigate through computer systems easily.
- Professional communication through phone, email, and in person.
- Computer skills in Windows and MS office and the ability to easily learn new applications.
- Strong listening skills and ability to walk an internal team member through tasks.
- Ability to work within a team to initiate solutions and to assist team members in meeting performance goals.
- Adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Self-motivated to complete assigned tasks and projects on time.
- Ability to maintain organization of multiple tasks and projects.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain professional communication during all interactions.
- Perpetual learner.
- Willingness to work overtime and additional hours outside normal shift. Working some weekends may be required to meet team and department goals.
