  • Job Description

    Job Purpose You will partner with company leadership and management teams in managing the Stoughton Trucking Driver fleet, safety, performance, and all equipment and associated maintenance and finished products from our OEM manufacturer.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Strategic Business Planning and Management

    • Monitor all Safety systems and track safety KPIs to ensure Driver safety on the road and drive the priority of safety through all business practices.
    • Envisions, articulates, and leads the fleet of 30-50 CDL Driver to ensure stable supply chain functioning to our sister company and customers.
    • Manages all fleet equipment which includes company vehicles, forklifts, flatbed and dry van trucks, and yard trucks.
      • This includes the maintenance and the acquisition of new equipment when needed.
    • Align with our insurance provider to optimize coverage, cost savings, claims, and returns
    • Minimize loss through driver training and prescriptive planning
    • Directs planning of driver employment and acquisition of fleet equipment to scale OEM forecast

    General Management

    • Oversees and adheres to workplace conduct, risk management and compliance practices within the office including regulatory compliance (SOX), responding to internal audit requests, and implementing process changes as necessary
    • Serves as the direct supervisor of all CDL Drivers, Fleet Maintenance Manager, Yard Drivers, and a Safety Coordinator. This currently includes approximately 55 direct reports.
    • Has the actual authority to approve maintenance spends of up to $1,000 and creates proposal for Capital Expenditures for President and/or board approval.
    • Cascades communications to employees across multiple locations as appropriate, including information on organizational or divisional initiatives, announcements, etc.
    • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to enterprise need

    Talent Management

    • Set quarterly performance goals and reporting that align to organizational objectives and cascade goals throughout the operations organization.
    • Manage performance and development of direct and indirect reports across multiple locations through both formal and informal performance management, coaching, mentoring, and training.
    • Assess, calibrate, and manage talent by leveraging analytics, aligning roles and resources, career pathing, succession planning and ensuring a focus on diversity and inclusion.

    Financial Management

    • Key contributor for the financial performance of the business line financials as measured by the P&L including budgeting, revenue generation, and expense management for the Trucking group.
    • Handles expense management, including personnel-related costs (including overtime), T&E, and general administrative expenses, as well as partners with customer-facing management to manage shared expenses

    Qualifications

    • Education:
      • Required: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in supply chain, fleet management, or equivalent experience.
    • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
    • Required:
      • Minimum 8 years of DOT experience
      • Minimum of 5 years experience in Diesel fleet experience
      • Minimum 5 years of people management experience
      • Ability to travel up to 30% (domestically)
    • Preferred:
      • Strong knowledge of STO business lines, including a solid understanding of STO-focused analytics
      • Experience in standard modes, specialized transportation, or project cargo services
      • success generating revenue or business growth in a client-facing role with sales, account management, or carrier management experience
      • Proficiency presenting to both internal and external audiences
      • Demonstrated negotiation, collaboration, and influencing skills
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
