At GDIT, we foster a people-centric environment. As a Program Director supporting a federal healthcare customer, you will be trusted to modernize and integrate several data centers and legacy systems with enterprise and cloud-based solutions into a holistic shared services solutions.
Serve as the Program Director on an enterprise data center and cloud operations and modernization contract responsible for organizing, directing, and managing multiple complex and inter-related services and projects that often require managing teams of contractor personnel at multiple locations. Typically oversee all aspects of the service delivery, architecting the transformation solution and leading complex innovation/modernization projects. Identify, analyze new and complex project-related problems and create innovative solutions that normally involve the schedule, technology, methodology, tools, solution components, and financial management of the project.
In this role, a typical day will include:- Leading and guiding matrixed project teams
- Consulting with customer and contractor personnel to formulate and review ITIL based task plans and deliverables, ensuring conformance with program and project task schedules and costs and contractual obligations
- Providing proposed solutions and rough-order of magnitude estimates for client requirements
- Managing and maintaining contractor interface with the senior levels of the customer's organization and building relationships with Senior Government officials based on mutual trust.
- Serving as a liaison between business and technical aspects of projects. Plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage.
- Communicating and coordinating with senior client leadership on the development of transition and transformation plans, providing business requirements direction, and removing any obstacles or conflicts/issues that impede the velocity and progress of project teams.
- Partnering with customers to ensure that business needs are being met and that solutions are aligned with long term goals. Utilizing feedback groups, communities of interest, and surveys to accomplish these objectives.
- Analyzing new and complex project-related problems and create innovative solutions that normally involve the schedule, technology, methodology, tools, solution components, and financial management of the project.
- Monitoring performance to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met.
- Producing or provide quality control over contract deliverables.
- Assisting the team and client with decisions based on long-term and short term aspects of the engagement
- Facilitating change, knowledge and incident teams understanding the client environment and needs as priorities shift
- Establishing and maintaining technical and financial reports to show progress of projects to management and customers, organize and assign responsibilities to subordinates, oversee the successful completion of all assigned tasks, and assume the initiative and provide support to marketing personnel in identifying and acquiring potential business.
Minimum/General Experience: This position requires a minimum of 15 years progressive experience in managing/leading IT projects and programs, including experience with data centers and infrastructure programs, and using Agile software development and DevSecOps methodologies. Experience should include:- 5+ years of experience leading teams migrating applications to the cloud and virtualized environments
- 5+ years of experience managing IT Service Management (ITSM) projects and using Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) to standardize service delivery
- Experience gathering customer requirements for large complex services to develop solutions focused on long term goals.
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, including experience in presenting material to senior Government officials
- Strong experience (8+ years) working for a senior leadership client, participating in briefings, presentations, advisory sessions.
- Have an existing or the ability to obtain a clearance.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:- A Master's degree (computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software)
- ITIL Certified (current) or equivalent preferred
- Agile certifications-PMI-ACP, CSM, CSPO, SAFe etc. preferred
