    Sr Mgr, Technical Operations

    Overview:

    GovCIO is currently hiring for Technical Operations Manager requires extensive experience in technical project/program leadership for custom built and COTS application development. In addition, experience in full life cycle development and Agile development methodology. Also, hands-on experience in analysis and design, working with business customer(s) and infrastructure teams to translate requirements to applications. This position is located in Chantilly, VA and is full remote.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide Working experience in Business Intelligence using MicroStrategy Oracle Reports, Business Objects.
    • Exercise time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, both individual and team related tasks.
    • Maintains attention to detail in high-pressure situations, and the ability to exhibit confidence and knowledge in solving problems.
    • Leads and manages the efforts of multi-disciplined personnel teams (Engineers, DBAs, & QA) to deliver systems within guidelines for schedule, cost, quality and productivity.
    • Monitor and report project status and milestone achievements for all phases of a project on a very regular basis and implement remedial actions as appropriate.
    • Delegates tasks to, organizes, mentors and motivates a team of Information Systems professionals and fosters a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Manages technology assets and budget; assessing, designing and providing system and technology training.
    • Monitors technology trends such as emerging standards for new technology opportunities.
    Qualifications:

    Bachelors degree in a Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field with 12 plus years (or commensurate experience)

    Required Skills and Experience

    • 10 plus years of IT related experience.
    • 10 years of working experience that includes analysis, design, testing, development, implementation and change management.
    • 6-8 plus years of experience in data management, data warehousing, data modeling
    • 6-8 plus years of Software Life Cycle Management
    • 5 plus years of MicroStrategy software - preferably MCE.
    • 5 years plus working experience with Languages: PL/SQL, HTML
    • 5 years plus working experience Database: Oracle, MS Server (current versions)
    • Proficient in SQL able to write complex queries.
    • Operating System: Linux, Unix, Windows (windows NT/2000/XP Professional)
    • Working experience with TOAD, SQL Navigator, SQL Developer, Oracle JDeveloper 10.x, MS Visio, Erwin, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, Snagit, VersionOne, GitHub
    • Working experience in Agile and Waterfall methodologies
    • Understanding and working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle
    • Interact directly with the customer on behalf of the team to resolve issues or identify new requirements to be addressed by the team.
    • Working experience with infrastructure teams to translate requirements for custom built and COTS applications.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Willingness to learn and acquire new knowledge.
    • Candidates need to be self-driven and be an active contributor in shaping solutions for the customers.
    • Candidates shall demonstrate communication skills to understand the requirements, and present their ideas to the team and to the customer(s)
    • Candidates need to work well in a team environment with a mindset to share, receive and discuss ideas to compile the best solutions for customers.
    • Clearance Required: Must be able to acquire and maintain US Postal Public Trust


    Preferred Skills and Experience

    • Masters Degree/MBA highly preferred
    • In depth knowledge of the United States Postal Service (USPS) organization and operational management reporting
    • PMP is desired

    Posted Pay Range

    The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an at-will position and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

    Posted Salary Range: USD $155,000.00 - USD $160,000.00 /Yr.
