    Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role is responsible for managing manufacturing operations and employees for the epoxy molding value stream, with full accountability for developing objectives and continuous improvement initiatives in the areas of cost, methods, quality and quantity of work performed.

    Primary/Essential Responsibilities:
    • Lead and mentor a manufacturing workforce consisting of approximately 40+ employees including Supervisors, Team Leaders, Engineering Process Specialists, and hourly production workers. This role has approximately 4-8 direct reports.
    • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team of process specialists.
    • Develop capabilities for implementing and driving continuous improvement strategies within Molding department to achieve overarching business strategy. Utilize the tools of Problem Solving, Lean/Six Sigma, and other Continuous Improvement Processes to create a culture of world-class Operational Excellence.
    • Mentor and lead front line leaders and process engineers in the evaluation and improvement of manufacturing processes, through lean concepts and Six Sigma, while driving a lean culture.
    • Use Lean Manufacturing techniques to drive team toward execution of business goals using Lean Manufacturing methodology to improve productivity, quality and delivery performance.
    • Evaluate, decide and recommend key critical projects improving the Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost metrics for the department.
    • Partner with Supervisors and Managers in other areas of the operation in order to meet customer expectations and ensure company objectives for safety, quality, cost and delivery objectives are met.
    • Ensure compliance with Corporate Safety Policies, OHSA and drive a culture of continuous safety awareness and improvement.
    • Lead the designated value stream to meet and improve schedule dates, reduce process times, reduce inventory levels, improve quality yields and increase the utilization of resources.
    • Oversee problem resolution to address operational and mechanical problems and the analysis for reoccurrence prevention.
    • Assist in creation of and ensure compliance with the department's annual budget.
    • Identify and implement capital projects on time and on budget.
    • Promote a working environment that encourages employee involvement to achieve excellence in productivity, customer service and quality.
    • Evaluate and update the performance of team members against their job requirements and performance goals within the time frame designated for their position level. Review performance of all subordinates.
    • Review disciplinary actions to ensure consistency and policy compliance.
    • Engage in international business travel as required.

    Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
    • 5+ years of progressive management experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside and/or coaching diverse people and perspectives
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a positive work environment
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure
    • Knowledge and application Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and/or other continuous improvement models. Proven experience in successfully implementing continuous improvement projects.
    • Knowledge of ISO 9001/14001 standards applicable to manufacturing environment.
    • Ability to maintain professional competence, knowledge, and skills necessary for the performance of all assigned responsibilities.
    • Ability to adapt to and embrace change with a positive attitude.
    • Well-developed organization/prioritization skills and strong attention to detail.
    • Resourceful, diplomatic, customer service oriented. Ability to proactively anticipate and action internal customers' needs.
    • Ability to consistently demonstrate a high degree of business acumen and sound judgment.
    • Proven experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization; able to gain credibility and trust.

    • Proven ability to maintain long-term relationships with colleagues, suppliers and other stakeholders.

    • Ability and willingness to travel internationally as required.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Previous experience in low volume/high mix, engineered and built to order manufacturing environment
    • Leadership experience with examples of building high performance teams and a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Six-Sigma black belt or green belt certification or experience is a plus.
    • Problem solving experience using standard tools and methods such as 8-steps, DMAIC or similar root-cause analysis methods.
    • Previous experience managing business with Profit/Loss Responsibilities.
    • Experience working within a technical engineering environment.
    • Superior coaching and communication skills.
