    The Chief Engineer at the Aloft Leawood-Overland Park is primarily responsible for the overall maintenance of the property's building and grounds and for the operation of its equipment and mechanical/electrical systems. Accountable for managing the maintenance budget, preventative maintenance schedules, and energy conservation. Leads the emergency response team for all facility issues.
    Responsibilities:Produce accurate logs, charts, and preventative maintenance forms for all HVAC related equipment/tasksOperate central HVAC equipment and mechanical equipment using sound engineering practices and specified corporate/resort operating proceduresTrouble-shoot electrical and pneumatic problems and repair them in a timely fashionPerform general repairs of drywall, carpet, and tileCreate and implement Preventive Maintenance ProgramsManage hired vendors or contractors to ensure the success of larger projects or renovations
    Requirements:Three to five (3 to 5) years prior experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a hotel or apartment environmentHVAC certifications a plusEffective leadership skills with the ability to supervise, motivate and mentor team members to maintain optimal department operation and staff developmentWorking knowledge of budgets and purchasing proceduresAnalytical approach to problem-solvingAbility to work, communicate and maintain positive guest and colleague relationsStrong attention to detailComfortable with basic computer software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and WordEffective written and verbal communication skills exercising patience, tact, and diplomacy
