Job Summary and Qualifications
The Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator works with trauma program leadership to coordinate all aspects of the departments Performance Improvement and Patient Safety (PIPS) Program. The PI Coordinator will review the continuum of care to determine compliance with practice management guidelines, policies and procedures, and established standards of care.
What you will do in this role:
- Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Trauma Performance Improvement and Patient Safety Plan.
- Maintain the Trauma PI database to ensure adequate documentation as required by regulatory agencies.
- Complete concurrent review of cases to identify quality, timelines and systems of care to meet state standards.
- Participate in hospital education programs for nurses and resident physicians caring for trauma patients.
- Serve as a liaison to the clinical areas responsible for trauma patients.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary monthly Trauma Systems & Operations Committee and Peer Review meetings.
What qualifications you will need:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
- Registered Nurse
- Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma
