Immediate 1st Shift Maintenance Mechanic Job Opening in Des Moines, IA!

Shift: 1st

Pay: $28-33/hour (DOE)

Maintenance Mechanic Job Responsibilities:

• Installs, adjusts and maintains all mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic plant equipment.
• Performs general mechanical functions and repairs on plant equipment, vehicles, buildings, facilities or instruments.
• Performs general skills such as welding, basic fabrication, pipefitting, HVAC, electronic scale repair, pump repair, pump seal rebuild and basic line equipment repair and rebuilding.
• Helps develop preventative maintenance or work order system to track all issues that arise to ensure clear communication is provided to the plant leads and operations manager on items that need attention.
• Installs new machinery and equipment.
• Completes general repairs such as painting, patching walls, security hardware, etc.
• Maintains inventory of related supplies.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.

Requirements:

• Degree from a vocational or technical trade school or three years of experience in a plant maintenance position is required
• Must be able to pass OSHA respirator physical
• Must be able to work rotating shifts
• Ability to work on elevated equipment up to 100 feet off the ground
