    The Director of Re-Refineries Compliancemanages compliance and staff for a specific area of operations. Oversee the work of Compliance Managers and perform the functions of the Compliance Manager where there is no dedicated Compliance Manager.

    • Immediately report instances of non-and immediately report all spills, fires, releases, odors, and incidents requiring implementation of the contingency plan and injuries to Corporate per Company policy along with submitting weekly compliance reports.
    • Participate in disciplinary reviews to ensure that the health and safety compliance disciplinary guidelines are implemented consistently and fairly.
    • Perform and monitor general regulatory compliance duties to walking the facility to review overall compliance, reviewing the Off C, compatibility and Inspection workbenchs, checking VPI (View Plant Inventory) report for aging issues and checking RMP and DHS reports for chemical volume issues.
    • Develop training plans that cover RCRA training and OSHA modules that are required by H&S. Review deficiency report monthly.Communicate weekly with the facility compliance staff to reviewdiscussed the highlights and issues; Developmentor compliance staff. Ensures staff has the tools to be effective in their positions.
    • Ensure all compliance items are entered into the compliance calendar and all deadlines contained in the compliance calendars are met. Ensure permit compliance including ensuring the facility complies with applicable regulatory approvals/permits and local, state and/or federal regulations and laws, and company policies and procedures, and monitoring the remedial activity, verifying when complete.
    • Ensure written reports are submitted to the appropriate agencies (federal, state, fire department, etc); renew RCRA, WWT, air and local permits as required; modify permits as required.
    • Ensure incident reports are completed in a timely manner and that all required notices are promptly made to regulatory agencies.
    • Ensure all inspections (daily, weekly, monthly, etc) required by regulation are completed and that timely corrective actions are taken and documented through work tickets.
    • Ensure compliance with all consent orders.
    • Annually ensure review and update the facility profiles. Compile clean compliance data and regulatory tracking including monitoring local, state and federal regulation changes.
    • Return all phone calls promptly, respond to all electronic messages when applicable, and respond to requests for information timely.
    • Support compliance managers with third-party environmental compliance audits and regulatory inspections to include completing all assigned customer audit checklists, conduct audit tours as assigned; all third-party disposal site audits assigned are scheduled and performed; audit reports are completed and submitted to corporate within four weeks of the on-site audit.
    • Represent the company for industry group and customer presentations.
    • Creatively seek solutions to operational issues while remaining in compliance with applicable regulations.
    • Participate in the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures. Complete all performance reviews within the required timeframe.
    • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.
    • BS/BA in Environmental Science or related field preferred.
    • 5+ years in Compliance.
    • Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) laws/regulations (required).
    • Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
