    Senior Oracle Database Administrator

    HOW A SENIOR ORACLE DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
    • Experience with the support and guidance of current and future releases of both the Oracle RDBMS and Oracle Financial Software Suite
    • Ability to communicate with the Oracle internal development and technical support staff to escalate operational and design issues for the most rapid resolution possible
    • Experience with maintaining distributed server platforms using Linux, Unix and Windows operating systems and shell scripts
    • Responsibilities include overall maintenance, administration, monitoring, problem management, and production support for Oracle databases
    • Maintenance support will include addressing issues and decisions on product interactions with various operating systems, other layered support products, and hardware platforms
    • Must prepare and submit regular status reports on work activities, accomplishments, and status of projects
    • Support of distributed databases located in Eagan, MN, San Mateo, CA


    WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

    Required Education:
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution in a computer science, information system or related field (preferred but not required)
    • Oracle Certification: Oracle eBusiness Certification


    Required Experience:
    • 10+ years of relevant work IT experience
    • 5+ years of recent database experience


    Required Technical Skills:
    • Must possess experience with Oracle and Oracle Financial Software Suite architecture - both logical and physical design
    • Experience with Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) and Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) familiarity
    • Skilled in performing query and performance tuning using PL/SQL
    • Proficient with using Linux, Unix, Windows operating systems and Shell Scripts
    • Preferred experience with Oracle Data Guard and Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM)


    Required Skills & Abilities:
    • Ability to perform daily maintenance including monitoring and database maintenance tasks, including backup & recovery
    • Ability to apply patches and upgrade database versions
    • Ability and skill to install and build database structures
    • Skilled with the design and build of new database structures
    • Ability to develop and maintain documentation
    • Proficient writing and presentation skills


    Security Clearance Level:
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
    • The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to have resided in the US for the past five years. The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days.


    Location:
    • On site in Raleigh, NC
    • Work schedule is a standard 5-day first shift (8:00 am to 5:00pm ET)
