Job Summary and Qualifications
As an Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN), you will plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care for endoscopy unit patients. You will provide leadership and supervise the care, maintenance, and activities of the endoscopy suite. You will also ensure a clean, efficient, and safe environment within the work area.
You will complete age appropriate assessment of patients prior to admission to surgical suite
You will verify operative procedures and not presence of signed consent on medical records
You will verify that history, physical, and allergy, information are recorded on medical records and communicated to the care team
You will gather the patients perception of surgery and understanding of the planned procedure, as well as provide patient teaching and emotional support
You will assist with care of the patient during anesthesia
You will perform surgical preps and position the patient properly for surgery
You will administer medications and IV therapy correctly and safely
You will ensure availability of safe equipment, participate in process improvement, and prevent and manage accidents in the work area
Job Requirements
Experience
1- 2 years of recent Endoscopy experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) (required)
Education
Associates degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited school of nursing
Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing
Licenses and Certifications
Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. Davids Healthcare policy
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification per St. Davids Healthcare policy required within 6 months of hire
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 6 months of hire
Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) certification preferred
This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
St. Davids Round Rock Medical Center is a 150+ bed acute-care facility located north of Austin, Texas. This comprehensive medical center features the only hybrid operating room in the county, a 24-hour emergency department with a Level II trauma center, and leading-edge cardiac care through the Heart Hospital of Austin at St. Davids Round Rock. Patients may also receive care related to rehabilitation services, womens services, cancer care, neurology, joint replacement and orthotics, and more when visiting this facility.
