Your Role
The Bay Area Core Accounts Account Management team oversees a diverse block of business, with account sizes ranging from 100 to 2999 eligible employees and multiple funding platforms. The Account Executive will report to the Director of Account Management. In this role you will be responsible for preservation and expansion of our existing customer base. The ideal candidate will be experienced with complex accounts, understand the nuances of different funding platforms, possess strong communication and presentation skills, and have deep knowledge of both the California and national insurance marketplace.
Your Work
In this role, you will:
- Serve as the go-to Account Executive for product knowledge and share that knowledge with peers; able to quantify and qualify the advantage of Blue Shield of California products over those of competitors and how they apply to customers needs
- Serve as a trusted advisor as you develop and maintain strong relationships with producers and employer groups
- Support all retention initiatives via development of strategic plans for existing clients
- Strategically utilize understanding of market trends to strengthen the Blue Shield of California value proposition, linking and aligning market insights to customer priorities
- Facilitate all meeting types, including annual utilization reviews and finalist meetings with executive level audiences
- Anticipate client needs and provide comprehensive recommendations and solutions
- Work closely with the Account Service Representative and service team to coordinate escalated complex support for our clients and producers
- Act as an intermediary between other departments within Blue Shield of California to ensure your clients goals and expectations are met
Your Knowledge and Experience
- Requires a college degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years of prior relevant experience
- Requires 6-10 years Health Plan sales experience
- Requires deep knowledge of various funding platforms
- Requires advanced negotiating skills
- Requires a current and active Life and Health license with California Department of Insurance.
- Has excellent communication skills and ability to build long term relationships
Pay Range:
The pay range for this role is: $ 118461.20 to $ 189538.80 for California.
