Job Summary and Qualifications
The Registered Nurse delivers professional nursing care to population-specific patients on the Medical Surgical Units to include, Medical, Surgical, Telemetry, Orthopedics, Neurology and Oncology Units. Follows the Board of Nursings (BON) Standards of Nursing Practice utilizing the nursing process in care delivery. Maintains accountability for professional decisions and actions within the parameters of their legal scope of practice and in accordance with the federal, state, and local laws; rules and regulations; and policies, procedures and guidelines of Medical City Healthcare (MCH).
PRN 1 requirements: 3 (12 hour) shifts per pay period.
Shift: Nights
**Base rate: $52/hr.**
What You Will Do in This Role:
- Responsible for delivery of professional nursing care for assigned patients, performs nursing assessments/ care plan/ implementation of treatment/ evaluation of treatment/ and discharge planning.
- Administers treatments/medications/procedures within scope of practice.
- Coordinates care with interdisciplinary team members and ancillary services.
- Responsible for delegation within scope of practice to provide safe and effective care to patient population.
- Integrates behavior standards and AIDET fundamentals of service into all work activities.
- Authorized to access secure drug and biological storage areas when completing a medication management orientation and when necessary to perform assigned duties.
Education / License / Certifications:
- BSN required within 24 months of hire
- Current Texas RN License
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS and ACLS issued by the American Heart Association required
- Professional Nursing Organization Membership strongly encouraged.
- Certification in area of specialty preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 18 months experience within an acute care hospital with a minimum one year in a specialty area.

Able to float to designated facilities in the WEST POD:
