    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Product Manager II will be responsible for analyzing and communicating market conditions and recommending, executing and communicating the procurement strategy for the assigned product groups. This position will provide guidance and training to the Purchasing Coordinator that supports the assigned product groups. There are two levels for this role and we are looking for talent/skills that would fit the qualifications for either.

    JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES

    • Gather, evaluate and communicate market conditions for the assigned product groups.
    • Function as the 'subject matter expert' for the assigned product lines and gather and communicate key market intelligence including : global supply options, plant capacities, key market information, etc.
    • Present key market information to the sales team on the Monday morning teleconference.
    • Assist in preparing the Monthly Market Report for the assigned product groups.
    • Assist in preparing and presenting the weekly Target Price Report for the assigned product groups.
    • Update the Product Profitability Analysis Report on a monthly basis- identify and investigate current trends on volume and/or margin and present findings to the Sr. Management Team.
    • Develop and communicate the Supply Plan for the assigned product groups detailing the volume plan for each key supplier and product.
    • Monitor and report on key supplier volumes vs plan on a monthly basis
    • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with key suppliers for assigned product groups.
    • Conduct supplier meetings as necessary.
    • Identify and conduct meetings with potential new suppliers.
    • Identify and present new product lines to the Sr. Management Team.
    • Recommend and communicate an inventory strategy based on current market and pricing conditions for assigned product groups.
    • Communicate the inventory strategy to the responsible Purchasing Coordinator and ensure that the strategy is executed.
    • Identify and help to sell slow moving inventory for the assigned product groups.
    • Provide guidance and training to the Purchasing Coordinator team as needed.
    • Ensure that the PC team is trained on essential E1 functions.
    • Ensure that the PC team is trained to function as a back-up to the Product Managers during vacations, meetings, etc.
    • Propose and set annual goals and objectives for the appropriate Purchasing Coordinator.
    • Attend and present at quarterly sales meetings
    • Attend industry trade shows as needed.
    • Strive to achieve annual savings target as assigned by the Management Team.


    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Chemistry, Marketing, Economics or Business Management or equivalent industry experience; MBA preferred
    • CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager), CPSM or APICS Certification preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years experience in the Chemical/Process or related industry.
    • 5-10 years experience in the Chemical Distribution Industry.
