Job Summary and Mission
As an architect lead within Starbucks Technology you will build and enhance global IT solutions that define how Starbucks delivers award winning consumer and partner experiences. Senior Architects are accountable for the conversion of business need into architectures and designs that will become the blueprint for a single domains capability development. As a member of the architecture community you will also participate in the development of domain strategies, design patterns, and best practices for all of Starbucks global IT operations.
We are seeking a Lead Enterprise Architect (EA) with focus on technology strategy to join the Starbucks Technology team and be part of the Starbucks Architecture community. The EA will lead and mature the architecture practice accountable for shaping the next generation of technologies supporting our critical corporate products & services in Supply Chain, across Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, and Retail Inventory Management phases. Based in North America, this role will provide guidance for market teams both in the United States, Canada, and globally.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Future State Planning and Road-mapping
Develops project and program based capability views, resulting strategies, and architectures
Advise functional and technology leaders within domains in defining priorities, key initiatives
Guide Technology strategies and transformation of services to effectively deliver business capabilities
Concept and Business Case Development
Assesses the value and impact of concepts and emerging technologies by leading opportunity assessments and proofs-of-concept thru partnership with key project and program level stakeholders
Assist in development of proposals for domain strategy development
Solution Design and Facilitation
Facilitate architectural design creation and changes across multiple domains thru defined governance processes
Develop target and transition state architecture for projects and programs
Manage project and architectural interdependencies between programs across projects
Policy Definition and Governance
Evaluate technology and business changes across programs and multiple domains for impacts to existing policies
Facilitates governance and enforcement of solution architectures for programs and programs based on defined principles, policies, and reference architectures
Prepares, champions and educates client groups on changes in policies across programs
Program Management
Lead in design and shape of projects within a domain to introduce technology change
Domain Proficiency
Demonstrate functional and business knowledge for multiple capabilities areas within a domain
Act as a subject matter expert and provide consulting, guidance, and recommendations
Continuous development of domain knowledge in both the industry and the Starbucks enterpris
Leadership
Demonstrates accountability, makes timely and appropriate decisions on projects and programs
Takes calculated risks and challenges the status quo on programs and across multiple domains
Develops partnerships and influences others both directly and indirectly
Provides coaching and support to team in order to achieve partners, business and customer results
