Job Summary and Qualifications
The Intermediate Ultrasound Technologist may be required to perform invasive and non-invasive procedures on a variety of patients, utilize sterile techniques and assist physicians as necessary throughout the Mission Health System. Continuing education, learned skills and experience will be utilized. This position will function without constant supervision to produce superior quality imaging studies. The Intermediate Ultrasound Technologist must routinely work within a minimum of 2 qualifying ARDMS specialty certifications in addition to ARDMS, ARRT or CCI Vascular certification as directed by department managers/supervisors to meet the specific needs of the departments. This includes but is not limited to; Abdomen (AB), Breast (BR), Fetal Echo (FE), Neurosonology (NE), Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) or Pediatric Sonography (PS).
- Required Education: Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program.
- Preferred Education: Bachelors degree in healthcare related profession.
- Required License: ARDMS or ARRT Registry in Ultrasound at time of hire. Additionally, Vascular Ultrasound Registry from either ARDMS, ARRT or CCI required upon hire at independent diagnostic testing facilities (IDTFs), all others must obtain it within 12 months in the position. High Risk OB technologist must be registered in OB/GYN. Must complete required CEUs to maintain certification. BCLS certified.
- Preferred License: ARDMS in multiple specialties.
- Preferred Experience: 12 months previous experience in ultrasound.
