    Project Engineer

    The Project Engineer is responsible for planning and coordinating product and technology development projects. In this role, you will facilitate the design lifecycle for plastic containers and related extrusion molds and tooling. While working with internal teams to determine project needs & technical feasibility, you will also have the opportunity to interface with many of our world-class customers to ensure their standards and expectations are met before products are sent to production.     You Will:

    • Lead product development engineering teams, ensuring assigned project goals and objectives are achieved while following Plastipaks established development procedures.
    • Coordinate the activities of cross-functional teams to ensure the successful introduction of new products.
    • Communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
    • Coordinate the collection and dissemination of technical information between/within the company and customers.
    • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
    • Plan and schedule workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
    • Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements and related specifications.
    • Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
    • Lead activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design, manufacturing and test problems.
    • Manage and control expenditures within limitations of project budget.


    You Have:

    • Associates degree; Bachelors degree preferred
    • Minimum of three years experience in project engineering
    • Experience with plastics or molding technology preferred
    • Knowledge and use of related computer software, i.e.: SAP, MS Word, Excel and Access.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to operate as an effective leader and representative of Plastipak
    • Ability to travel (15-25%)
