    Manager, Social Services Management

    Your Role

    The Blue Shield Promise Social Service team is looking for a leader with Medi-Cal experience who can help facilitate the integration of social and behavioral needs care into overall healthcare to support members holistically. The Manager, Social Services will report to the Senior Manager, Social Services. In this role you will provide leadership, direction and are responsible for daily operations of the social services team, which supports members throughout San Diego County. The manager oversees staff, which include Social Workers, Community Health Advocates, Coordinators and Community Health Navigators, who provide services in a variety of settings. The manager ensures all elements of the operations are in compliance with health plan and regulatory requirements as applicable to membership product lines and program benefits with special attention to the health and welfare of the members served.     Your Work

    In this role, you will:

    • Be responsible for the daily operations of the social services department including staffing, work schedules, assignments, efficient workflow, and performance
    • Oversee the Critical Incident Reporting departmental functions to include filing and follow-up on mandated reporting, i.e. Adult Protective Services, etc.
    • Assure the provision of social services in all settings: Hospital, SNF, Home, Assisted Living, Board and Care as applicable to the health plans role
    • Interfaces and educates other internal and external organizations about the social services department operations and scope of practice
    • Provide leadership to ensure best utilization of resources in obtaining organization goals, regulatory compliance, with corporate policies and to ensure the needs of the individuals served are met
    • Routinely mentors and coaches direct reports one-to-one on a regular basis to strengthen skills, ensure effective service delivery and the clinical integrity of each case
    • Tracks data and prepares reports to support department operational, regulatory requirements and audits
    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders in achieving program milestones and operational objectives
    • Ensure optimal operations and continuous improvement of the Social Services Department Program
    • Other tasks, as assigned

    Your Knowledge and Experience

    • Masters Degreein socialwork (MSW) orrelated fieldfrom anaccredited universityrequired
    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent licensure (e.g. LPCC, LMFT, etc.)
    • Requires at least 7 years experience working with people who need assistance with complex health and social issues
    • At least 3 years of management experience gained as a team leader or supervisor
    • At least 3 years of managed care experience
    • Experience working with Medi-Cal populations
    • Thorough knowledge of case management and social work principles, techniques and practices and their application to complex casework and community problems
    • Experience working with individuals who have complex health,behavioral health/substance abuse and social issues.
    • Experience partnering with provider groups and community resources and agencies.
    • Experience working with state and local government stakeholders
    • Experience implementing operational aspects of programs and policies with ongoing process improvements
    • Valid CA Drivers License and proof of auto insurance coverage required

    Pay Range:

    The pay range for this role is: $ 94,160.00 to $ 141,240.00 for California.

Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
