    ORE - Shift 2 ($.55) (United States of America - Oregon)

    A BRIEF OVERVIEW
    The CNC Machinist I position contributes to the production of medical devices by operating and performing basic set ups of CNC 2 and 3 Axis machines, with the ability to identify X, Y, Z and 0 coordinates. He/she is responsible for running multiple and varying CNC machines simultaneously, such as Lathes, EDM Wire, and Plunge machines in addition to operating manual machine tools to cut, drill, shape, and finish quality products with some supervision. Experience with CNC Machining in a manufacturing work environment required. The Machine Operator/Machinist I, performs set up of moderately complex jobs and operation of CNC equipment, ensuring that all required processes are completed to machine finished products to customer specifications in accordance with established policies and procedures.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • The Machinist, CNC reports directly to the area Supervisor.

    • Performs basic machining functions to produce parts.

    • Operates multiple machines simultaneously.

    • Monitors the machine to ensure proper program performance.

    • Completes shop work orders, inspection documentation, and daily maintenance sheets.

    • Makes off sets and adjustments to machines with moderate supervision.

    • Advocates for the health and safety of self, co-workers, customers, and the community.

    • Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS).

    • Completes all required training.

    • Set up moderately complex jobs and operate conventional, special-purpose and computerized numerical control (CNC) machines to fabricate metallic parts.

    • Review and understand blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specification, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations and set-up requirements

    • Select, align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines, such as mills, lathes, grinders and tooling pre-setter.

    • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, and coolant flow.

    • Load programs into CNC machine and execute program to accurately machine parts to meet customer specifications.

    • Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings to programmed control data ensuring functionality and performance.

    • Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls or control media as required.

    • Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.

    • Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers or others to resolve machining or assembly problems


    EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

    • High School Or Equivalent (Preferred)


    EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

    • Lean Manufacturing Experience (Preferred)

    • Experience in Medical Device Manufacturing (Preferred)

    • 1+ Years of Experience Operating Machining Equipment in a Manufacturing Environment (Preferred)


    LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

    • Machining Trade School (Preferred)
