The Job
As a CNC Programming Operator , you'll be part of our Columbia, CT team. You'll get to:- Interface with customers and suppliers to resolve process and design issues.
- Participate in process development including but not limited creation of detailed router instructions, operation sheets, tool selection and fixture and tooling design
- Evaluate the new cutting tools.
- Analyze drawings, sketches, and design data of the parts to determine the dimension and configuration of the cuts
- Select the appropriate tools and machine speeds and feed rates according to the machine shop processes, part specifications and machine capabilities.
- Effective written and verbal communications required
- Understand and ability to incorporate lean manufacturing in cell environment, quick change set-up, etc.
The Person

- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Degree in Manufacturing Engineering is a plus
- 5+ years of shop floor machining experience
- Fixture design experience
- Okuma NC Gauge familiarity
- Okuma TurnCut familiarity
- Feature based programming development experience
- Load & Go automation systems familiarity
- Master Cam and VeriCut Machine Building Simulation experience
- 4 axis, 5 axis, and Mill-Turn multi axis processing experience
- Experience with Okuma OSP controls and Fastems FMS palletized automation and lightly attended automated machining
- Programming experience with on machine probing for set-up and inspection. Auto comp a plus.
- Experience with redundant tooling macros along with tool assembly libraries
- Tool load monitoring such as Carrons or similar
- Strong G D & T understanding
