    Accounting Manager-White Hill

    Job Title: Accounting Manager

    Immediate Supervisor: Sr. Controller

    FLSA Status: Exempt

    Summary:

    The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the accounting operations of the plant.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Supervise and provide training to assigned personnel to ensure development of their full work potential.
    • Review and ensure that effective internal controls are continually monitored and maintained.
    • Analyze, interpret and communicate financial operating results to the plant Manager and other appropriate personnel.
    • Assist Plant Manager with various financial projects, (examples including costing, pricing, capital project analysis).
    • Ensure that monthly and annual entries, financial and operational reports, and standard costs are accurately and timely prepared and maintained.
    • Ensure accuracy of the physical inventory and reported results. Investigate and explain book to physical adjustments.
    • Ensure timely and accurate input of bills of material and price code changes.
    • Ensure bills of material and costing accurately reflect production operations.
    • Attend plant production meetings.
    • Perform regular walkthroughs of the plant to discuss production and costing issues. Review labor reporting and cost, material costs, manufacturing overhead, distribution cost, returns, and inventory levels.
    • Analyze potential excess and obsolete inventory items monthly.
    • Assure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Policies. Resolve questions of GAAP and internal controls with corporate management.
    • Study and evaluate accounting and data processing systems and procedures on a periodic basis. Recommend changes to improve profitability or increase efficiency.
    • Prepare other financial analyses as assigned.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    • 3 to 5 years related experience
    • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
    • Must maintain ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
    • Proficient knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft software
    • Ability to administer policies and procedures for effective fiscal control
    • Ability to plan, delegate, and supervise personnel in a manner, which will gain respect
    • Must have time management skills and the ability to organize and manage multiple assignments
    • Must be able to verbally communicate, understand and write in the English language

    Physical Requirements for the position will include:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit, talk and hear. This position will require employee to occasionally work in climate controlled areas example (cooler and warehouse). The employee will be required to operate a computer and keyboard; have visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech; manual dexterity to operate a telephone; lift horizontally and vertically, bend and stoop. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
