    Are you passionate about research studies and analyses? Leidos is seeking a Research Assistant to join our team onboard Naval Submarine Base New London. As a Research Assistant, you will play a crucial role in conducting research studies and analyses to uncover the biomedical response of humans to stressors in special warfare, undersea, diving, and submarine environments. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside and support our talented principal scientists in the Warfighter Performance Department, contributing to advancements in undersea physiology and performance enhancement.     The Challenge:

    • Assist with underwater physiology research

    • Execute research protocols in support of research objectives, including physiological monitoring and biochemical analyses

    • Provide planning and coordination assistance for various projects or studies

    • Provide documentation support for various projects or studies with reports, papers, research protocols, presentations, and posters

    • Test, evaluate, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and calibrate equipment

    • Perform statistical analysis and evaluation of human use or engineering data

    • Prepare, review, and disseminate various internal or external communications

    • Provide other research aid to various experimental protocols as required

    • Assist with research on undersea environments and human factors, including open-source literature

    • Perform other various tasks, possibly outside ones area of expertise, to contribute toward project completion

    • Document all work in laboratory notebooks, technical reports, posters, and documentation binders.

    What Sets You Apart:

    • Bachelor's degree in physiology, neuroscience, biomedical engineering, or closely related field

    • Comfortable working on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

    • Strong organizational and writing skills

    • Ability to acquire, at a minimum, a SECRET classification access level. Preference will be given to a candidate who already has this clearance level.

    • Due to Federal contract requirements, US citizenship is required.

    • Maintain a valid drivers license and a safe driving record.

    • Work is to be primarily performed on a government installation. The normal work week is Monday through Friday 0800 to 1630.

    • Some offsite travel (~10%) may be required for data collection efforts, presentations, etc.

    You Might Also Have:

    • Experience in a human subject research setting.

    • Experience working with the US federal government.

    • Ability to work within a collaborative team environment, with demonstrated personal drive and initiative to achieve goals.

    • Interpersonal communication skills are required to interface with all affected teams, personnel, and vendors.

    • Organized and detail-oriented self-starter with a strong work ethic.

    • Ability to work self-sufficiently given direction and resources.

    • Ability to think critically, solve problems independently and exercise judgment and common sense.

    • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with minimum supervision.

    Pay Range:

    Pay Range $37,050.00 - $66,975.00

    The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
