On this unit, you will care for patients with hematological malignancies who are receiving bone marrow transplants. Oncology nurses are experts at providing compassionate care and support to patients that have cancer. They monitor patients after surgery, administer chemotherapy, and help patients to access resources needed to ease their journey.

About this unit:

• We take care of complex oncology and hematology patients in a supportive environment that fosters teamwork
• Patient Population is often recurring, which in turn we build relationships with them and their families
• Specialty educators (Oncology and BMT) to help grow the staff and to ensure their success

You may also provide the following specialized care:

Chemotherapy/Biotherapy administration and management, including investigational protocols

Transfusion of blood, platelets and fresh frozen plasma

Management of patients with radiation implants, central venous access devices and spinal drains

Bone marrow biopsy and aspiration

Thoracentesis and paracentesis

Epidural and intrathecal analgesia

Monday -Friday 8 to 4:30 GREAT HOURS!

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Registered Nurse Missouri licensure (or compact licensure)
• Registered Nurse Diploma, or Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
