    Responsibilities :
    Produce and maintain themed show sets, props, figures, and characters in both a shop and field environment using multiple mediums and materials including FRP, butyrate, latex, oil base products, adhesives, urethanes, silicone, poly-mixes, acrythanes, enamels and black light; fur, feathering and sewing techniques and animated figure skin color matching to documented standards. Develop material finishes from undocumented sources, as well as from documented sources and field samples. Ability to utilize an array of materials and techniques to problem solve issues as they arise with limited work times and resources. Assume a leadership role in providing direction and guidance to Show Finishers as needed, taking direction from the Dept. leader. Exemplify a high Safety standard as it pertains to the work environments and materials being used. Demonstrate a high level of effective communication with leadership, partners and Art Direction.


    Basic Qualifications :
    • Proven Artist Preparator experience.
    • Minimum of five years experience in a scenic painting or related field
    • Must have a high degree of skills in silicone Repairs and Painting, plastisol/hot melt skin buttering, sculpting with various mediums, tree and foliage fabrication, fur and feathering techniques, scenic set painting, scenic treatments pertaining to attractions, airbrushing skills and extensive hand painting techniques.
    • Individuals to possess a portfolio reflecting past work experiences and projects of his or her work in relation to animated figures, skins, mold making, vehicles, dry brush, wash and faux texture painting techniques, character finishes and show a strong working knowledge of human anatomy.
    • Demonstrated organizational, communication and leadership skills with attention to detail with all aspects of project management.
    • Ability to be flexible with work schedule.
    • A working knowledge of fur, sewing, and pattern making
    • Basic understanding of black light paint and techniques
    • Strong knowledge of fiberglass and butyrate repairs and maintenance
    • Proven sculpting ability demonstrating a variety of forms, subjects, and techniques


    Preferred Qualifications:
    Knowledge of theme park environment.
    Proven knowledge and understanding of Walt Disney World Resort policies and procedures.
    Demonstrated computer proficiency within a Windows environment


    Required Education :
    • College level courses in the arts field or degree
