    Travel Nurse (RN) Tele/Stepdown (Telemetry/PCU)

    Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN - PCU 3 West

    Shift: Nights/ 7p-7a, 12x3, 36 hrs per week, EOW

    Length: 13 Weeks

    Requirements:

    • VA License
    • 1 year PCU experience
    • MS/Tele, Tele, Cardiac Tele, Neuro Stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown Work setting skills
    • ACLS
    • BLS
    • NIH
    • Feeding tube care and management; PCA; Tracheostomy Management,
      Wound Care/Wound Vac; Meditech skills preferred
    LOTUS OFFER
    **50-mile radius required NO local travelers.

    Start date: Every other Monday, 1/29, etc.
    Duration: 13-weeks
    Shift: 3x12s (please indicate if traveler wants/needs block scheduling.
    The manager is open to this!); every other weekend
    CERTS REQUIRED: BLS, ACLS, NIH
    SKILLS REQUIRED:
    Work setting: MS/Tele, Tele, Cardiac Tele, Neuro Stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown
    Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry -on the unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams
    Cardiovascular: Post Cardiac Angiogram, Post MI, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath
    Endocrine/Metabolic: IV insulin protocols, Titration of Insulin drips
    Genitourinary/Renal: Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure
    IV therapy/Phlebotomy: Accessing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management , PICC line management, Starting IVs
    MEDICATIONS: Heparin Protocols, Manage Cardiac drips- no titration, Manage Vasoactive drips-no titration
    Neurological/Psychiatric: CVA
    Respiratory: Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, External CPAP/BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Oxygen face masks, Non-invasive airway management
    Professional Topics and Skills: Isolation Precautions
    1:5 patient ratio experience
    1 year PCU experience
    Additional Preferred skills: Feeding tube care and management; PCA; Tracheostomy Management, Wound Care/Wound Vac; Meditech
    First time travelers OK
    UNIT INFO:
    Nurses on this unit care for adult patients who are acutely ill with a wide variety of medical problems. The patient population on PCU/Tele includes cardiac, neuro, renal, infectious disease, pulmonary and more. As a RN on our unit, you will be accountable for the coordination of direct patient care and education.     SPECIAL PROCEDURES/ADDTL UNIT DETAILS:
    Insulin drips for DKA's
    pre/post cardiac cauterizations, pacemakers, ablations, cardioversions.
