Safe Release Support Specialist (4170)

PURPOSE & IMPACT:
To coordinate the services of Fingerprinting and Immigration Departments by supervising and overseeing fingerprinting clients, coordinating with case managers, and submitting necessary documentation to LIRS and the daily operations of the Safe Release Support Staff
Essential Functions:
- Receiving appointment schedules
- Maintains communication with Case Manager and Sponsors
- Fingerprints individuals for unaccompanied minors program using a LiveScan machine.
- Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence related to the individuals fingerprinted.
- Counsels sponsors on Family Reunification.
- Scan completed Family Reunification packet documents and email them to appropriate shelter case worker.
- Assists attorney and other staff as directed.
- Attends meeting with LIRS staff.
- Provides monthly reports to Manager III and funding sources as directed
Other Functions:
- Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service populations cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs
- Work on special projects with minimum supervision.
- Back up in the absence of the legal assistant.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to sit and stand for long periods of time, utilizes telephone, computer, and other office equipment.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work flexible and long hours, including weekends and after business hours, if necessary.
Education: Bachelors degree, or other relevant degree or equivalent experience.
Experience: Experience working with clients; comfortable working closely with diverse client base.

Skills:
- Computer proficiency required.
- Good written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills with persuasive abilities.
- Must exercise discretion and good judgment in dealing with sensitive issues.
- Able to work with the public.
- Able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Able to work independently and with minimal supervision (initiative).
- Dependable and reliable.
- Initiative and follow through to ensure all assignments are completed.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
Principle Accountabilities:
- Reports to Manager III
- Must be a team player.
- Accurate, complete, and timely submission of required reports and documentation to LIRS & LSF.
- Effective working relationship with clients (providers).
- Adherence to LSF policies and procedures.
