    An accredited acute-care hospital located in Southern Connecticut is currently searching for an experienced Nurse Practitioner of Behavioral and Mental Health to join their award winning clinical team.

    This esteemed acute-care facility is home to over 250-beds and has been proudly serving over half a million patients each year for over the past 50 years. This hospital is part of a much larger reputable health system that has strong ties to multiple prestigious medical institutions in the area. This hospital is equipped to offer care to over 50,000 Emergency Department visits and over 13,000 patient admissions annually. This hospital goes above and beyond to ensure the highest quality of care and is proud to be one of the main contributors to community health assessments in the area.

    The Nurse Practitioner of Behavioral and Mental Health will work within a psychiatric department that is accustomed to utilizing a team approach when caring for every kind of patient. The Nurse Practitioner of Behavioral and Mental Health will be expected to provide clinical psychiatric evaluation, treatment, and appropriate transition of patients within the behavioral and mental health service line. The Nurse Practitioner of Behavioral and Mental Health will work primarily in the hospitals Emergency Department, Psychiatric Emergency Department, the inpatient Psychiatry unit, and many other ancillary departments throughout the hospital.

    The Nurse Practitioner of Behavioral and Mental Health will act as a true resource within the psychiatric service line. The Nurse Practitioner of Behavioral and Mental Health will be expected to scribe patient medical and psychiatric histories, utilize adequate diagnostic techniques, prepare and administer psychiatric assessments. The Nurse Practitioner of Behavioral and Mental Health will work under the Unit Chief and will be responsible for providing education, instruction, and counseling as needed.
