    Product Line Sales Specialist

    Position Overview

    The Pro d uc t Line Sales Specialist generates and secures new sales within a specific pro d uc t line to increase the pro fitability of the company. This position ma int a ins existing ac cou nt s while generating new business in pro d uc t line specialty through cold calls and following lea d s.

    Essential Job Duties

    • Develop short- and long-term growth plans and targets for specialty pro d uc t line based on research and sales forecast.
    • Assist Pro d uc t Line Manager with developing a timeline for roll out of pro d uc t lines to the market.
    • Develop new customer ac cou nt s through making cold calls, working potential customer lists, contacting subcontractors in the area, contacting companies who pre viously rejected pro posals, etc.
    • Function as key sales contact for customers offering and selling a full breadth of the pro d uc t line through the in s id e s a les team.
    • Partner with In s id e S a les Support in coordinating quoting, orders, del i v e r ies, etc. with the out s i d e s a les re pre sentative.


    • Mentor out s i d e s a les re pre sentatives on new pro d uc t line offerings.
    • Work with the Pro d uc t Line Manager to monitor activities and pro d uc t s of the competition to suggest new pro d uc t s int o market.
    • Ma int ain positive relations with manufacturer field personnel.
    • Attend and participate in all company-sponsored training pro grams as required .
    • Re pre sent Company at trade association meetings to pro mote business and develop relationships as required .
    • Collaborate with Pro d uc t Line Manager and Purchasing Manager to assist in pricing special orders with local sales team.
    • Advise the company and clients immediately of price changes from manufacturer .
    • Comply with Company's attendance policy by ma int aining regular and pre dictable attendance.
    • Adhere to established safety rules and regulations and follows all safety pro cedures; ma int ain a safe environment.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by location management.


    K no wledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Minimum education required - High School diploma or G.E.D. Associate degree in related industry is pre ferred.
    • Minimum experience required - 3 years of sales experience in building materials or related industry.
    • Special skills required - Minimum 2 years sales experience in specific pro d uc t line. Ability to read, int er pre t and estimate from bluepr int s; ability to use calculator and computer. Ability to negotiate prices and contractual agreements. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to customer service. Pro ficient in MS Office pro d uc t s.
    • Physical demands include ability to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis and 50 lbs. on a random basis, work in extreme weather conditions. Sitting, stooping, bending, standing or walking for extended periods of time.
    • Other - Ability to travel 75% of the time and perform according to the requirements of the position. Must have valid driver's license and pro of of ins urance.
