    The Manager Tax Reporting is primarily involved with domestic tax reporting and compliance. The Manager is responsible for 1) leading the domestic income tax compliance to ensure accurate and timely filings, 2) handling domestic income tax audits, and 3) reviewing tax provision computations to ensure accurate reporting under ASC 740. This position requires awareness of all governmental imposed timeframes applicable to HGV, as well as internal timeframes including, but not limited to those imposed by corporate accounting, FPA, treasury and others. As a part of the HGV Corporate Tax Department, this position will interact with multiple departments within the HGV organization and multiple team members within the HGV Corporate Tax Department.

    This position requires expertise in tax accounting; federal, state and local tax; tax forecasting and modeling; and thinking analytically. This position requires strong leadership and organizational skills to lead a team and tax processes. The Manager is a strategic thinker, goal-oriented, excellent communicator, and positive.

    The Manager Tax Reporting is responsible for driving company success through performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

    • Lead the federal income tax process and return preparation to ensure timely and accurate filings and assist with state and local compliance as needed
    • Review of various federal book-to-tax difference adjustment calculations quarterly and annually (e.g. 162m, stock comp, IRC 453 computations, advance payment, eliminations, etc.)
    • Review of quarterly and annual tax provisions, including book/tax differences and OneSource tax provision active work papers
    • Review of quarterly estimates and annual extensions for domestic tax filings
    • Manage and coordinate R&D credit and WOTC credit engagements with external advisors
    • Research and document technical tax issues associated with domestic compliance and/or provision
    • Assist with tax purchase price accounting and opening balance sheet adjustments
    • Manage domestic tax audits
    • Train and mentor staff
    • Assist with various other routine and recurring tax projects
    • Prepare and/or manage special tax projects as assigned
    • Constantly strive for process efficiencies and automation
    • Able to work in a fast-paced environment involving competing deadlines

    • Minimum five (5) years of related experience in corporate or public accounting firm
    • Proficient with federal and state income tax principles
    • Proficient with ASC 740
    • Strong understanding of US GAAP rules
    • Computer proficiency, specifically with MS Excel and MS Word
    • Excellent written and verbal skills
    • Ability to initiate and manage collaborative efforts of multiple teams throughout the organization
    • Independent and self-starter who is comfortable working in a fast-paced and intellectually stimulating environment
    • Ability to research, understand and document sophisticated and technical tax matters
    • Absolute discretion and confidentiality regarding critical information
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify and prevent potential problems
    • Ability to work well under pressure to effectively handle multiple concurrent demands and appropriately prioritize responsibilities
    • Ability to train and mentor staff
