Job Description
SUMMARY
The Legal Assistant will provide legal support and assistance to GSFSGroup's attorneys and paralegals (Sr. Manager, Legal Affairs). The Legal Assistant will provide a wide range of complex technical, document processing, office management technology support, and administrative and special project support to further the Company's legal and governance efforts. In addition, the Legal Assistant will support and participate in departmental functions and maintain positive relations for the legal department with GSFSGroup associates, business partners, dealers and other third parties.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates creation of legal documents as well as the editing, proofreading and processing of legal documents upon request of assigned attorneys and paralegals, including correspondence, memoranda, agreements, presentations, or other practice specific documents.
- Maintains and organizes electronic legal and governance data in systems identified by the legal department.
- Manages document deliveries, signatures and tracks final executed documentation.
- Assists with overflow work, administrative duties and special projects as assigned.
- Communicates daily using multiple mediums (i.e. email, written reports, one on one presentation, etc.) to complete assigned work, solve problems and address issues
- Collaborates and works with all department associates where applicable.
- Understands available resources and leverages most effective resource for desired results
DEPARTMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Represent Legal Department on intracompany teams as assigned. Coordinate with associates inside and outside the legal department as necessary to carry out intracompany team objectives.
- Open, maintain, close and safeguard files within area of responsibility and organize and file documents and information in designated order.
- Provide other duties and support to Legal Department as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree with three to four years of experience within a law firm, in house corporate legal dept. or other professional organization; or equivalent combination of education/experience. Corporate Governance knowledge and experience with e-filing a plus.

- Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent planning, organization and coordination skills to meet varying deadlines.
- Performance of assigned duties with a high degree of accuracy.
- Proficient computer skills, including internet research, company software, Microsoft Office 365 applications, Adobe Acrobat, document management, entity management and other office technologies. Demonstrated ability to learn and master other relevant software programs and/or computer hardware as needed.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to apply and implement GSFSGroup legal, governance and business requirements, processes and procedures.
- Ability to support and handle change. Flexibility to quickly adjust focus and adapt to change daily.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the work day; and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The associate is occasionally required to travel to other sites, including out-of-state, where applicable, for business. The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The job is generally performed in an office environment and the noise level in the office environment is typically quiet, but the associate may be occasionally exposed to loud noise levels.
TRAVEL REQUIRED
Minimal travel is required for this position (up to 20% of the time and on a domestic basis).
