Director of EVS - Copperwood

Overview:

The Director of Environmental Services oversees site direction of environmental services staff, ensuring the community's cleanliness and operational efficiency. They monitor environmental services programs to maintain buildings in a safe and clean condition, complying with regulatory/accreditation requirements. Additionally, the Manager measures cleanliness standards, maintains relationships with departmental leaders, and ensures compliance with JCAHO, Infection Control, and OSHA standards.

Professional/Educational Requirements:

Bachelors Degree preferred.

AHE CHESP or IEHA certification highly preferred.

Three to five years of environmental services experience in a healthcare setting required.

Minimum of two years' experience in a lead or supervisory role in a healthcare environment preferred.

Computer proficiency required.

Administrative Responsibilities:

Understand procedures, supplies, and equipment used in housekeeping and laundry.

Prepare work schedules and supervise personnel procedures.

Attend staff meetings, prepare department budgets, and assist in planning.

Perform housekeeping and laundry duties when needed.

Serve as a member of the Administrative Staff with on-call responsibilities.

Assist in infection control procedures and training.

Training Responsibilities:

Plan, conduct, and schedule in-service training classes and orientation programs.

Retrain personnel who do not meet standards.

Maintain professional competence through participation in continuing education programs.

Leadership Responsibilities:

Make daily rounds to ensure required duties are performed and housekeeping procedures are followed.

Maintain positive working relationships with other department supervisors.

Supervise housekeeping and laundry programs.

Foster a positive service-minded attitude among staff.

Maintenance Responsibilities:

Conduct daily inspections and resident interviews to maintain quality standards.

Inspect equipment, monitor supply and chemical costs, and assess supply needs.

Report cleaning and repair needs and submit project or maintenance requests as necessary.
