    Job Summary and Qualifications

    The Labor and Delivery Surgical Tech/OR Scrub Tech collaborates with RNs, obstetricians, CRNAs and anesthesiologists to serve in support role in Labor and Delivery, including within the OR.

    What You Will Do In This Role:

    • You will be responsible for supplies, instrumentation and equipment needed for surgical cases.
    • You will be proficient in surgical environment as surgical assistant passing instruments and assisting the physician during surgical cases.
    • You will have expertise withaseptic technique within the surgical/obstetrical setting.
    • You will accomplish assignments related to anesthesia supplies, equipment and set-up.
    • You will demonstrate proficiency with various types of anesthesia and their preparation/set-up.
    • You will transport patients between units in a safe manner using good body mechanics.

    What Qualifications You Will Need:

    • Graduate of an accredited educational program for Surgical Technologist and current CSTorcompletion of an appropriate training program for Surgical Technology in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps or Coast Guard of the United States or in the United States Public Health Serviceoremployed to practice Surgical Technology in a healthcare facility prior to September 1, 2009 required
    • Previous main OR experience preferred.
    • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider
    • Ability to work on a PRN basis

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

    • Organizational and time management skills required.
    • Demonstrate ability to assist with care of women of childbearing age and the newborn up to four (4) hours of age.
    • Support family centered maternity care.
    • Mechanical and time management skills required.
    • Independent employeeself-starter

    Special Demands:

    • Care and maintenance of surgical instruments.
    • Flexibility in scheduling due to erratic census.
    • Customer service skills required in working with a variety of staff and physicians
