    Interventional Surgery RN Neurology

    As an Interventional Surgery RN in Neurology, you'll provide critical nursing care to neurovascular patients, assisting Neuro Endovascular Surgeons and Vascular Surgeons in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures. Your exceptional attention to detail, adaptability, and communication skills will be invaluable in monitoring patients for complications, administering medications, and educating patients and their families before and after procedures.

    Your incredible responsibilities include:

    • Preparing patients for procedures: verifying vital signs, medications, NPO status, lab results, and medical history
    • Educating patients and family members on procedures and plans of care
    • Inserting and removing intravenous lines, access ports, and CVCs
    • Administering medications, including moderate sedation
    • Monitoring patient patterns and vital signs during procedures
    • Ensuring patient safety and comfort before, during, and after procedures
    • Circulating/scrubbing procedures as needed
    • Providing post-procedure monitoring for signs and symptoms of complications
    • Managing complex Neuro cases, vascular, trauma, image-guided biopsies, catheter placement, vascular access, and more
    • Handling patients on ventilators, A-lines, conscious sedation, capnography, Ramsey scores, and ventriculostomies
    • Monitoring patients in MRI with pacemakers placed in conditional mode
    • Assisting inpatient nurses with transitioning IV medications
    • Managing contrast reaction and supporting patients during imaging procedures
    • Assisting with other services as needed
    • Performing related duties as required

    To qualify, you must have:

    • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school, with current New York registration
    • At least two years of acute care RN experience in Critical Care
    • AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS certifications
