    Job Summary and Qualifications

    The Central Sterile Supervisor will supervise and coordinate operational activities within Sterile Processing and Equipment Distribution to include decontamination, sterilization, assembly, case carts, storage and distribution of medical and surgical supplies and mobile equipment used in the care and treatment of patients.

    • You will communicate with medical and nursing personnel regarding changes in service and/or special needs. Recommend ordering of new equipment/instruments and replacing of lost or damaged items.
    • Monitor productivity and quality of product of individuals and of shifts utilizing proactive observational and hand-on approaches.
    • You will initiate and follow up work requisitions to ensure proper preventative maintenance and repair of reprocessing equipment and mobile equipment.
    • Plan and schedule work ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate staffing, space and facilities for subsequent performance of duties. Adjust staffing levels to meet daily needs; authorize over-time and low workload for shifts as needed
    • You will collaborate with OR Instrument Tech/Liaison to ensure the availability of adequate quantities of instrumentation, surgical supplies and/or other items required to support the surgical case volume and reprocessing functions

    What qualifications you will need:
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
    • Previous experience in Central Sterile or as an Operating Room Technician is required
    • Previous leadership experience is preferred
    • Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) through IAHSCMM or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) through CBSPD is required upon hire or within one year of employment
    • Graduate of Sterile Processing training program is preferred
