    Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall management of the mechanical and electrical maintenance functions of the plant. The primary objective of this position is to sustain and improve the economic viability and operational reliability of all plant assets and ensure an effective progress and improvement program through the efforts of the mechanical and electrical personnel. Effectively and proactively administer Heidelberg Materials' safety program ensuring compliance with MSHA rules and regulations, including but not limited to root cause analysis, develop, and share best practices, train employees to identify and address potential hazards.

    The Maintenance Manager position is based in Camden, NJ.

    What youll get to do:

    • Responsible for the implementation of mechanical and electrical maintenance systems and managing modification and improvement projects
    • Identify and provide development opportunities and motivate staff resulting in a reliable and competent workforce
    • Manage the allocation of mechanical and electrical maintenance resources to develop and control maintenance budget and provide an efficient and cost-effective operation
    • Provide oversight and leadership to the maintenance function by:
    • Developing a long-term vision for the Maintenance Department
    • Reviewing and approving bid documents and technical specifications
    • Planning, Coordinating, and executing plant projects and shutdowns
    • Identifying and implementing development opportunities for maintenance staff
    • Providing technical expertise to assist the production, process, and maintenance departments
    • Serving as a liaison between the plant and Heidelberg Materials corporate engineering group regarding maintenance activities
    • Provide ongoing maintenance support to the plant for all shifts by managing maintenance on-call program.
    • Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of corporate guidelines, conducting training and monitoring compliance.
    • Proactively managing health & safety of employees to continuously improve the company's health & safety performance.

    Essential Experience and Skills

    • Bachelors degree in engineering preferred, electrical or mechanical engineering with strong electrical experience strongly preferred
    • Prior experience managing staff in an electrical AND mechanical maintenance function required, control system experience preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in heavy manufacturing, cement plant experience preferred
    • Ability to read electrical and mechanical maintenance drawings
    • Solid understanding of preventive/predictive/corrective maintenance principles, techniques, and technologies
    • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and motivate others
    • Demonstrated experience in project management, creative problem solving, strategic thinking, and decision making
    • Strong communication skills to ensure coordination of work and completion of tasks
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products including MS Excel, Word, Access, and Project
    • Working knowledge of SAP software preferred
    • Experience with PLC and multilin preferred
    • Understanding of contractual matters (negotiation and legal aspects)

    Work Environment

    • Role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.
